Helen Guinness BA (Hons) – Four by Four

Helen GuinnessHelen founded Four by Four Consultancy in 1989 to provide top quality development programmes for individuals and teams across the organisational spectrum. Her key speciality is enhancing organisational performance through Transformational Leadership Development.

As Principal Consultant she has designed and delivered programmes within pharmaceuticals; engineering; recruitment; NHS; HM Prison Service; the MOD; Church of England; the Police Service, small professional companies, not-for-profit, and large blue-chip organisations.

Unflappable and endlessly adaptable, Helen has facilitated the smooth transition of a merger of two large law firms in the South West of England. She has steered entire departments through major growth challenges, as well as negotiated sensitive down-sizing requirements. She has coached senior executives to the next step in leadership, and guided fast-trackers on their journey to the top.

She has a profound understanding of what makes for a successful workforce, and how to guide organisations to achieve this. Her Leadership Development experience and her own inspiring approach, combined with an engaging down-to-earth practicality and humour, enable her to connect with and motivate individuals at all levels.

Helen has worked both nationally and internationally, including the former Yugoslavia and Soviet Union.  She speaks French, German and Croatian.  She has lived in Africa and the Middle East and is used to dealing with cultural diversity – indeed, she relishes it.

She is co-author of the acclaimed “Making Management Simple” published by How To Books and is currently writing a book on innovative leadership in the 21st century.

In addition, she is a committed charity fund-raiser (£2 million and counting). She is also an accomplished artist, and a passionate advocate of The Hunger Project – she was the UK Chair for six years – an organisation dedicated to empowering communities in the developing world to lift themselves out of hunger and poverty through the practical application of leadership principals.

Indeed, inspired by the experience of transformational change in action in the developing world, Helen designed and is now delivering the Vision for Action programme to organisations in the West who are hungry not for food but for a sustainable way of living and working.
